Adam Hug is an accomplished classical guitarist based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. His musical career is rooted in a versatile musical skillset and passion for education.

Recent performances include solo and ensemble concerts at Carnegie Hall, the New York Guitar Seminar, the State University of New York at Oneonta, Long Island University and the Rubenstein Museum.

 

A passionate educator with over a decade of experience, Adam is dedicated to passing on the torch of music. He offers private lessons throughout the New York metro area as well as online. Lessons are structured around a classical approach to technique with personalized curriculum to guide students across genres. His open door policy means he is always accessible to his students, not solely during lessons.

 

As an arts administrator, Adam has played a crucial role at the New York Guitar Seminar, overseeing ensemble and program management since 2016. During his tenure at the seminar, he has produced several world premiers by world renowned composers such as Leo Brouwer, Joao Luis and Jaime Zenamon.

 

Adam holds a Master of Music degree in guitar performance from the Mannes School of Music, where he was a scholarship student in the studio of Michael Newman. He earned his Bachelor of Music in guitar performance with a full academic scholarship from Hunter College, studying with Sara Overholt. Additional studies include composition and jazz performance with Fred Hand, Craig Boyd and Michael Belajonas. Masterclasses include those taught by Leo Brouwer, Jorge Cabellero, Rene Izquierdo, João Luiz, Gohar Vardanyan, and Fabio Zanon.
